The Rugby Aluminum Hydroxide Gel, USP, is an antacid over-the-counter medication for heartburn, acid indigestion, and a sour stomach. Each 5 mL teaspoonful contains 320 mg of aluminum hydroxide, an antacid. To use, take 2 teaspoonfuls 5 to 6 times daily after meals and at bedtime, followed by a sip of water if needed. Do not take more than 12 teaspoonfuls in 24 hours. Do not use the maximum dosage for more than 2 weeks.
